FROM BILLY BRAGG!!! I sent him a message on myspace and he wrote back to me. What a great a guy, right? In my email to him I mentioned my song "I Dreamed I Saw Billy Bragg Last Night" and alos asked him some questions regarding the situation between Israel and Lebannon. Here is his response:

My thoughts on Israel/Lebanon? Well, when my country was at war with the IRA, we were bombed and shot at in London but we never destroyed the infrastructure of Ireland in retaliation. If we had've done, not only would it have made matters worse but we would have been condemned by our friends and neighbours.
Its very hard to find an appropriate way to respond to terrorism - and sometimes we overstepped the mark - but in the end, a settlement was reached by talking to the terrorists when they were elected democratically. It a price that has to be paid if you want the killing to stop.
A cause to which I gave only measured support? The British Labour Party. I support them on constitutional reform, to the point of working with them, yet oppose them on the occupation of Iraq.
