LOOK WHAT WE DID
So last week, NPR's All Songs Considered blog asked for listeners to write in the bands that they wanted to see at NPR's SxSW showcase. We put out an APB asking for friends/fans/family/anyone to write in and let Bob Boilen know that you want us to be there for it. A lot of you wrote in. So many in fact, that Paste Magazine wrote a little blurb about it on their website. Now I can't say for certain that NPR is going to pick any of bands off their blog to go play at their showcase, and even if they do end up picking one, I have no idea if the Goods are the going to be the band they pick. It would be amazing if something like that happened, but I've done all this stuff long enough to know better than to hold my breath. There are no big breaks, there is no defining moment, there is no over the hill. There is only loving what you do, and the subsequent joy of finding other people who take some joy in that activity as well. I can't tell you how awesome it was to look at the NPR comments page, and see the names of a bunch of our friends and families and even "fans," stumping for us. And it is even more awesome to see that Paste Magazine took note of all the write ins and dropped our name as one of the bands that got the most votes. I wanted to tell you all that that was done without any kind of promotional campaign, without any financial backing, without any buzz or hype whatsoever. That was done by our friends, who decided to come through for us. I can't thank you enough for that. If you have not yet written in, why don't you do it? Take a chance. Lets see if we can take this thing! We are fired up now, ready to play! -Yoni Gordon and the Goods

I am just listening back to a recording of out show this past Friday at the Middle East out in Boston, and I am just kind of floored by it. This was one of the most fun shows we have ever gotten to be a part of and I wanted to say thanks to everyone who was able to come out and be there with us on one of the coldest nights that 2009 is likely to give us.
If you were there and you are reading this now, just know how much the whole thing meant to us. This is a night that I am going to think back on for years to come and I am really really really honored that you were all there with us. We will be back sometime in April, if not sooner. I will see you then.
